the intersection of healthy eating & fitness, natural hair, and random thoughts on life.
I took off work yesterday, so I could just sit and take in all of the events that led up to this historic moment. I cried like a baby and prayed as I watched this man begin his journey into becoming OUR 44th President of these United States. Say whay you want, believe what you like, but who in the world could not be motivated to do better by this occassion! Let's get it together people. I've made my pledges, have you?
Yesterday was almost surreal for me. I really longed to have been in D.C. w/everyone else. I know the crowds were enormous but I wanted to participate and feel the energy. Instead, I was at work. We actually stopped working to watch. I didn't expect it so it was a good suprise. But I truly longed to be around others who felt like I did. To put if frankly, I work w/a lot of outspoken Republicans. Yes, there are other Democrats and/or liberals in the office but they don't blatantly throw there viewpoints out there for everyone to hear. Either way, I'm still taking it all in.
I found it interested that when I came in (to work) this morning. I checked my flooded inbox and there was actually an email from the VP staff offering associates a chance to view the events during lunch in one of our conference rooms. To piggy-back on what you stated, we too have an array of Democrats and Libs, but their are still a lot of Repubs. In our case, they definitely aren't outspoken. Hell, this building is overflowing with minorities who have no problem expressing their viewpoints (just in everyday coversation)! Still, it would have been interesting to see who all stop to catch the events yesterday and to also see their faces! But you know it really doesn't matter because I'm still rejoicing! Praise God
