At Home Dry Skin Remedies (Combating Winter Dryness 2.0)

Hi Beautifuls!

I was reading the new issue of Purely Delicious magazine and amongst all the great articles, I came across one in particular entitled, "Winter Wonderland. Rx for Winter Skin". So ya know I had to post and past the information along. There are some great products for your skin that you can shop for without spending any extra money. (And we all can use that right now.) All you have to do is walk into your own kitchen.

Honey - great at removing dead skin cells and stimulating the renewal and re-growth of skin tissue.

EVOO - cold-pressed olive oil can be used to soothe and soften damaged skin and hair. Double wammy!!

Coconut Oil - is super-moisturizing to the skin and protective in cold winds and dropping temps.

Avocado - is similar in quality to coconut oil and can also be used for deep conditioning for a dry, flaky scalp.

Raw Sugar - coarse raw sugar can be used as an exfoliating body scrub, and can be easily mixed with other ingredients.

Celtic Salt - or other quality coarse sea salt is an excellent exfoliator and healer of the skin.

Bananas - are wonderful on their own or combined with other ingredients to make a simple, super healing face mask.

Now, if you're like me you may be thinking, "Da heck do I make something with these ingredients?!" Well, here are a few recipes for you.

Avocado Deep Conditioner

1/2 mashed avocado
1/2 t. olive oil
Combine the ingredients and massage into your hair and scalp. Leave in for at least 15 minutes, then rinse well.

Rich Hand Cream
1 C. raw coconut oil
50 drops of essential oil
Combine the ingredients with a fork. Store in a dry, glass container and use as you would regular hand cream.

Replenishing Face Mask
1 part banana
1 part avocado
1 T. raw honey
Hand mash ingredients very well and apply to face. Allow to sit on skin 5-10 minutes or more. Then rinse well.

I can't wait to give these a try! If you're already using natural ingredients for at home hair or skin treatments or anything similiar to these recipes, please share.

Smooches Beautiful!
